What a Year

It's been quite a year. 2013 started with my annual month-long trip to California, where I visited with my family and friends in what I will always think of as my  home state despite having lived in New York City almost thirty years.   It was on that fateful journey my friend Josie Brown gave me a … [Read more...] about What a Year

Chapter One, Page One

We've all been there. The elation of finishing a novel followed by the drop in the gut, a day or two later, and the panicked voice in your head that cries "Now what?" When my daughter Mary was in kindergarten and the teacher asked the kids in her class what their parents did for a living, she answered brightly, "My Mommy is a typewriter!" Yep, the job description fit. All my kids knew at that age was me sitting at my desk in the kitchen pecking away when I wasn't … [Read more...] about “My Mommy Is A Typewriter”

At the time I was enamored of Nancy Drew, so the "M" in my middle name stood for mystery (actually, it's Marian). I remember how excited I was when my teacher, Miss Cherry, singled out my story to … [Read more...] about Secret of The Mossy Cave

Author

I’m a writer by day, wife of a film critic by night. Be careful what you tell me or it might end up in one of my novels. I come from a large family with a few skeletons rattling around in the closet. I’m also a mom and serial wife (as my current and forever husband calls me—you may have guessed he’s not my first). Luckily my friends and family are still speaking to me, and readers continue to read what I’ve written. Maybe because I’m not afraid to go there. So, please, pull up a chair if you dare.
